Self Esteem - Learn to like yourself

Improving your self esteem: Do it now before it is too late.
Be determined to improve your self esteem and you are on your way to successful self improvement.

Do not let your low self esteem hold you back in life. The way you view yourself determines to a large degree how others view you.

These are some examples of the effects of low self esteem:

1. Nothing you do seems to go right
2. You believe that most people do not like you.
3. You believe that you, and therefore others, find you unattractive.
4. You believe you consistenly make poor choices.
5. You are afraid to converse with others for fear that what you say will be uninteresting or make you look ’silly’.
6. You feel swallowed up in a whirlpool of frustration.


So what’s the problem? Why are you lacking in confidence through low self esteem!

The origins of a low self esteem can often be found way back in childhood. When children are subjected to a constant tirade of criticism from teachers, parents, siblings and peers their self confidence is eroded and they succumb to the idea that they can never achieve success in anything that they do. That is not to say some healthy, constructive criticism is not a good thing. As in all aspects of life balance is all. But when that criticism is unrelenting, and coming from someone who is supposed to love them, the damage can be beyond measure.

Later on in adult life, some people who until that time in their lifes were confident and outgoing characters can find their self esteem taking a nose dive. Often due to bullying and overpowering partners, friends and co workers. Over time these people find themselves losing faith in their own abilities and having little or no respect for themselves.

So what to do about it?

If the previous paragraphs are an echo of your experience, it is time for you to cut yourself loose from that negative mindset and embark on a self esteem improvement program. Stop thinking that the world is closing in on you. Get determined to achieve what you desire. Stop blaming other people for your misfortunes. The world is your problem, but you are the answer to that problem.

From this moment on, make a promise to yourself. You will undertake a program of self esteem improvement. Think the right way and be determined to win, and win you will. Just remember that success never comes easily and that is why determination is its counterpart.

You have to seriously decide either to remain in a miserable state of low self esteem, or do something positive to boost your self esteem and develop a new you with good character and self image.

Re-program your thinking and control your state of mind. You must believe that you are worth much more than you think or you will remain at the foot of the ladder and never make an attempt to climb it.

Do not waste your life away with feelings of inadequacies. Instead, think of ways to go about self esteem improvement. Success is yours, just reach out and grasp it.
